Encounter Dating’s newest service is like Tinder reversed. First you meet the match, then you “swipe” left or right.
Encounter Dating will launch its new Encounter Match platform at the Greenwood Hotel on June 7.
Singles sign up, make an online profile with a photo and contact details, turn up to the
event and meet a bunch of other singles in person. After the event, at home or even outside the venue, the
singles can visit the website and decide whether the people they just met deserve the infamous left or right “swipe”. If both people match the same way, they receive each other’s contact details, and the romance can begin.
The idea, co-founder Ash Grant said, is to discover whether you have a connection first, avoid catfishing, and if face-to-face rejection isn’t your thing, avoid that as well.
Partners in life and business, Ash and Belinda Grant, started a dating service in June 2017. It was meant to be a “traditional dating event, livened up”. They had success right off the bat, with two singles finding love at their launch party. They are now married and living together. Desiree’s online testimonial reads: “At the time we were both single parents, disillusioned with the online dating world … We instantly connected and have been inseparable since.” Read the full article here
New singles company plans to offer real life events to let daters ditch the apps
SINGLES want to ditch dating apps and meet in real life.
That’s according to a new company which is bringing its singles events to the northern beaches.
Encounter Dating has pizza making, wine tasting, harbour cruises and tequila tasting planned.
Market Place bar Donny’s in Manly will hold the company’s first northern beaches event next month – speed dating for 28- to 38-year olds.
Founder Ashley Grant, a former stockbroker who has set the company up with his wife Belinda, launched the company in June after a year of preparation. Read the full article here
Matchmaker couple Ashley and Belinda Grant want singles to ditch the dating apps and meet the old fashioned way
FED up with swiping left and right?
Singles are being encouraged to put their phones down and meet people at traditional-style dating events.
“There’s nothing like meeting people face-to-face,” matchmaker Ashley Grant said.
Mr Grant has founded a dating business with his wife Belinda Grant and it is firmly going against the online dating trend.
Encounter Dating will see people come together at fun social events instead of searching for the date of their dreams on phone apps such as Tinder. Read the full article here
If you’re sick of the old Tinder date routine, pay attention.
A couple of Sydney legends are hosting singles trivia nights and its finally time for you to put all that useless (read: VERY important) Royals knowledge to good use.
It’s all going down at the oh-so-private boutique wine bar in the Crows Nest Hotel and the ticket cost even includes a (very necessary) welcome drink. You’ll be in for a speed dating situation involving 40 singles in their 20s and 30s and (most importantly) prizes for the winning trivia teams.
Pairing a rooftop with multiple tequilas and finding the potential love of your life sounds like a pretty solid plan to us.
This September El Topo Mexican are taking the hard work out of finding ‘The One’ with a singles rooftop tequila master class at their Bondi Junction locale.
You’ll sample 5 different premium types of tequila and enjoy some matched bites—because now is not the time to hit the floor. It’s a pretty safe bet that you’ll be surrounded by your kind of people, seeing as they all signed up to lick, sip and suck their way through Thursday (minds out the gutter please team).
